Day 7: Around Amman

Nothing exciting to report... I'm (Deidre) on the mend today... feeling much better.
Tom and I walked approx. 3 Kms to a local mall (AlBaraka)... it was nice to get out.
We did some grocery shopping at the Cozmo and met Mark after work for a ride home.
Tom made some yummy sandwiches and then everyone napped in the afternoon while I made guacamole and salsa.
We went to a local DVD store where we bought 6 DVDs for 5 JDs... tonight we watched Harry Potter.
Tomorrow we're off to Jerash & Ajlun... we'll be sure to have many pictures to share after our excursion!! :)

  2. ...surely not 6 DVDs for 5 JDs...

Jerash appears to make Niagara's Louis Tussaud's Wax Museum of history seem pretty insignificant, maybe not quite as much bling. Glad your feeling better Deidre. I've been trying to reach the kids at home for an hour..lines busy, possibly you're Skyping with them, however it's 04:45 AM in Amman so maybe not....enjoy Jrash and the Aijun castle. Marilynn and I have just spoken, I left them at Cameron's in Oakville at 15:00 hr, there checking their list of supplies for 5 days camping, 90 litres or 200 lb of jugged water, pop, beer, cases of expensive wine and scotch whisky and Pims for mixing with their garden-grow mint, strawberries, ginger ale, cucumber, fresh orange and lemon and shaved ice. Marilynn baked 180 cookies that I know of…tents, bags, bear spray for every tent, bear bells, Port-a-Potties and a chemical ingredient to suppress the foulness that ensues…lots of lights and wrist bands that glow in the dark, Bar-B-Q, 5 yr old cheese, spaghetti sauce, pea meal bacon, bear bangers, Marilynn & Alana had their eye brows and toes done, music systems to amplify their iPods, a sleep apnea machine and a $400 power pack and inverter to power it for a few days on its self-contained DC battery...no canned pork 'n beans, a hatchet a and roll of snare wire for the East Oakville crowd. Love you, Dad
